Valerie Ohman, Interior Solutions Design and Remodeling, LLC

Since 1983 CMBA has reserved a special month for CMBA builders to show their appreciation to CMBA associates, whose continued support and commitment strengthen the building industry.

The CMBA builders on the board have chosen Valerie Ohman, Interior Solutions Design and Remodeling, LLC as the outstanding 2009 Associate of the Year.

We honor Valerie Ohman, an accomplished professional, dedicated to the success of CMBA, proven to be fun and generous with her time and many talents.

Thanks to her sponsor Mike Gohman, W. Gohman Construction who brought Valerie to a membership meeting. There she recognized a value connecting her business with the other professional CMBA members. She became not only a CMBA member but also a member of the Remodelers Council, and holds a leadership role on the Remodelers Board.
Valerie joined the members who formed the Green Build committee to educate members and consumers all about building green and living green; she brought up the issue of “green washing.” Valerie was part of the panel of experts, presenting information and answering questions at area community education classes and the HomeShow. She attended the National Green Building Conference in New Orleans and brought back a considerable amount of information to share with the committee. She is the 2009 Green Build Chair. Following that path, Valerie fit right in with the Education Committee that develops educational programs for the CMBA.
Next, she offered to lend her creative talent to the Special Events Committee. If you have attended recent Holiday parties, picnics or membership meetings, you have seen firsthand Valerie’s decorating. Valerie served as Chair of this committee in 2008.

Of course Valerie, like the other CMBA stars who shine almost as brightly, cannot succeed without several team members. Valerie by her own admission has had a hard time saying no; and so she shares ideas, travels, decorates, leads, collaborates and even shops to move projects forward. She has seen a need and with zest and zeal comes through for CMBA.

It is said that success is a journey, not a destination.
